Our chess practices are open to all our Grade 1-7 learners and the times are as follows:

• Grade 1 – Mondays 13:00-13:45
• Grade 2 – Tuesdays 13:15-14:00
• Grade 3 – Tuesdays 14:00-14:45
• Grade 4-7 – Fridays 13:15-14:15

The Grade 1-3 learners' practices take place in Mrs de Kock's (1E2)'s class and the Grade 4-7 learners practice in the Culture Center.

2020 SEASON

Chess started well in 2020. Trials were held and teams were selected.

The league is mainly in the second and third term. Mr van Vuuren marketed "online" tournaments on the chess Whatsapp group during the lockout period.

Wynand Viljoen was selected for the 2021 WP training group and participated in the South African Junior Chess Championships in January 2020 in both the individual and team divisions.
