HOCKEY COORDINATOR

In 2014 the first u/8 group was entered into the hockey league for weekly matches and our first u/7 group was entered in 2015. Every year our teams improve and our mini-teams show good progress which makes us excited for the future senior teams.
An increase in numbers regarding participation has led to great successes. The +-250 learners are excellently coached by enthusiastic coaches. We have 25 hockey teams participating in matches on a weekly basis. The league matches offers the opportunity to our 1st team players to get Zonal or Provincial colors.
We try to familiar our players to Astro fields as much as possible by having our 1st boys and girls teams train at Brackenfell High School's Astro once a week.
Our first boys 'and girls' teams participated in a Maties hockey camp, in March 2020. Here they learned a lot of skills and techniques. It was a great learning experience for each of them. Matches were also played at the end of the day. Our girls and boys finished 4th. The boys were by Ms. Grobbelaar and daughters by Me. De Bruin afgerig.
Our 1st teams also particpates in Laerksool Park's Annual Sevens tournament and this gives our players the opportunity to compete against teams and schools along the South Coast.
PRACTICE AND MATCH DAYS
Hockey practices takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays and matches are played on Thursdays.
